Index 08 — Questions

The things people ask.

What is Frames?

Frames is the student photography club of Mar Baselios College of Engineering & Technology (MBCET) in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It is a student collective rather than a service: members photograph campus life, run photowalks and workshops, and keep the college’s continuous photographic archive.

Who can join, and what does it cost in experience or gear?

Any MBCET student can join. No portfolio, no experience and no gear list is required — members shoot on flagship bodies, on borrowed kit, and on the phone already in a pocket. The only thing asked for is curiosity about how light behaves.

What does the club actually do?

From campus events and Onam celebrations to college fests and everyday campus life, the club captures it all. Members take part in photo walks, workshops, creative shoots, event coverage, and exhibitions, along with editing sessions where members critique each other’s work, exchange ideas, and improve their craft.

Can Frames cover our event?

Frames is a student-led community, not a paid service. The club covers college events and activities as part of its community work, but does not undertake paid assignments. For paid event coverage, individual members can be contacted directly based on their availability and requirements.
